LAUREN TAYLOR - GOLD Young Ambassador
Ashlawn School - Year 11
My background in sport/leadership: I have always loved sport. I started playing tennis at the age of 7 and over the years I made good progress and competed at National Standard. Then I became interested in golf and football. I played football for Coventry City Centre of Excellence from the age of 10-12 years. Since the age of 12 I've played golf at a high level and I now represent England and Great Britain. I also help at my local golf club giving free golf lessons.
In my role as Young Ambassador I want to: promote the sport of golf to everyone in schools. I want to inspire young people to get involved in sports and to start the journey to become part of the Olympics.
My ambitions for the future are: to become a professional golfer on the LPGA tour (that would be my ultimate dream) but to definately be involved in the sport of golf.

LOREN HASWELL - PLATINUM Young Ambassador
Ashlawn School - Year 13
My background in sport/leadership: I have always had an interest in sport and have been involved in many sports for a number of years. I play football for Rugby Town Ladies FC. I have also been coaching at Rugby Town and have helped develop the U10's and 'Tiny Tots' squads although now I am the coach of the U11's and U13's. I have completed a number of leadership courses including my Junior Netball Organisers Award, Badminton Junior Helper Award and Junior Football Organisers Award. These have enabled me to develop my confidence and be able to lead sessions. In Year 10 I completed my Sports Leaders Level 1 Award and am now working towards achieving my Community Sports Leaders Level 2 Award. I am now a qualified Level 1 Football coach and a qualified referee.
In my role as Young Ambassador I want to: promote girls football as a sport that all girls can play confidently. Furthermore I want to inspire young people to want to become involved in sport in order to create a brighter future for UK sport. Making children more aware of the Olympics will hopefully inspire them to be at that level one day and it is great to be part of that.
My ambitions for the future are: to make an impact in trying to improve sport for young people by continuing to volunteer and get involved. I would love to be a volunteer at London Olympics 2012 as it would be a great experience. In the future I want to become a PE teacher and continue to do what I love doing.
