Step into Sport focuses on young people aged 14 to 19, giving them
opportunities to become involved in sports leadership and volunteering
and encouraging them to continue this into later life.
The programme is funded by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport
(DCMS) as part of the national Physical Education, School Sport and Club Links
(PESSCL) strategy, which is revitalising PE and school sport across the country.
Every year students are selected by their school to attend training conferences
and then register to become a volunteer.
Students are required to log the hours that they help and volunteer in a school
based and community based environment.
50 hours = Bronze Award
100 hours = Silver Award
