Thornfield Indoor Bowls Club are once again this season running their schools bowls programme that runs each Wednesday during term time. School children can turn up and play for only £1.00. Fully qualified coaches are on hand and equipment is free to hire. No need to book! Just turn up and play. Beginners are very welcome. This is a free activity run by Rugby Borough Council. Football sessions are suitable for young people aged 8 to 16 and will be run at Harris Sports Centre, Mellish Road from 5pm to 7pm starting Thursday 13th May.

Sports Inclusion Holiday Programme
The Extended Services Network in Rugby have secured funding from the IDS to run a 5 week sports specific holiday coaching programme for young people from Rugby schools with learning difficulties. The sessions are for young people from Brooke School but young people with learning difficulties in mainstream school are more than welcome to attend.
The sessions will incorporate fun games and activities from
Rugby Borough Council Sports Coaches followed by sports specific coaching from
local high quality coaches.
All session are on Sundays 1-3.30pm at Lawrence Sheriff School, Clifton Road, Rugby.
The programme is a follows:
July 25th
- Cricket - Delivered by Steve Smith-Walker who is a level 2 coach for the
Warwickshire County Cricket Club and the Warwickshire Cricket Board. Steve has
been coaching locally for over 5 years with experience in school, club and
development settings.
August 1st
- Table Tennis - This session will be coached by Adrian Pilgrim. Adrian has been coaching
for 7 years and is heavily involved with coaching around the county. The
majority of his experience is at club and school level but has also been
involved with the West Midlands High Performance squad.
August 8th - Rugby - Run by the Old Laurentians Rugby Club who have a rich history of rugby in the area. With a new and emerging junior programme they are also keen to develop inclusion Rugby in the county. All of their coaches a experienced and qualified to RFU standards.
August 15th
- Golf - Jonathon Gibbons is a PGA golf professional with lots of
experience of coaching adults and young people of all abilities in group and
one to one settings. Jon coaches a lot within schools including the last two
years at Brooke.
August 22nd - Trampolining - Delivered by one of the most experienced and qualified coaches In Warwickshire Annette Parker is one of the best coaches around. Her vast experience has been her running Rugby Trampolining Club for 21 years but she also has experience at school and development squad level. (places are very limited for this session)
All activities are FREE but must be booked in advance by
calling (01788) 533777 booking open Wednesday 14th @ 9am. Each
course needs to be booked separately.
