The Year 5 students took part in 5 activities as part of an intra-School competition where they scored individual points for how quickly they ran through the high stepper, how long they could balance for on the balance beam, how many times they could jump over the speed bounce, how many points they could score on the throwing and how far they could jump on the standing long jump. Each students points were added to the overall scores for each House and at the end of the competition the results were announced.
A fun morning was had by all students, and everybody really worked hard.

Year 1 Gymnastics Festival - Thursday 1st July 2010
On Thursday 1st July, in National School Sport Week 2010, Ashlawn School played host to the first Year 1 Gymnastics Festival within the Ashlawn Cluster. Year 1 students from Abbots Farm Infant School and Paddox Primary School had been preparing for the festival for a couple of months prior to the competition. The festival followed the Key Step 1 Gymnastics Sequences as guided by British Gymnastics and included a Body Management, Floor and Vault sequence which the students learnt and practiced in the schools in PE lessons and in extra-curricular clubs.
The competition was lead and judged by a number of Ashlawn School Sports Leaders, as well as two of the Eastern Warwickshire Sports Partnerships Young Ambassadors (Kelly Williams and Ryan Cleaver) who they themselves are Gymnasts at Rugby Gymnastics Club.
The competition was a peaceful event, and a great deal of respect was shown by all, with all students applauding the efforts of all of the competitors. The competition was thoroughly enjoyed by all and will be on the Ashlawn Cluster Calendar for next academic year.
